Bureau de Hunch is a multidiscipline design group founded in London with more than 20 years of work experience combined. We design with intuitive approach from the inception, we develop the concept with attention to detail in mind, we listen and apply practical solution which is closely knitted to the client’s need until completion. Individually, we have a proven record of accomplishment and this, combined with our collective talents, will lead us to great success in the future.
Founded Members
Chu Chih-Kang
Kang is the Design Director at Bureau de Hunch Ltd. He has received numerous prestigious global design awards. His work on the "Fangsuo Bookstore" in Chengdu has been recognized as a trend resource in Europe and was featured as “The Most Beautiful Bookstore” by Architectural Digest (AD) magazine.
In 2016, Kang was invited by the Global Art Affairs (GAA) Foundation to showcase his work in the "Time Space Existence" exhibition at La Biennale di Venezia, and again in 2017 for the "Personal Structures" exhibition at the same event. In 2017, he also founded WUGUAN BOOKS. Kang is passionate about design and creativity, consistently exploring innovative concepts in his work.
Tony Lu (RIBA/ARB)
Tony Lu is the Managing Director of Bureau de Hunch Ltd. and a Chartered Architect registered with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). With over 20 years of experience, he is known for his clear communication, innovative approach, and ability to deliver high-quality design solutions.
He studied at the Architectural Association School of Architecture from 1996 to 2004, establishing a strong foundation in architectural design. Over the years, he has worked with leading firms such as Archer Humphryes Architects and Weldon Walshe, contributing to a diverse portfolio that includes large-scale urban developments and high-specification residential projects in Chelsea and Kensington. His expertise also extends to commercial hospitality projects, including his key role in delivering the rooftop restaurant at The Peninsula Hotel in London.
Most recently, Tony played a pivotal role in the successful opening of Din Tai Fung’s Canary Wharf restaurant in February 2025. His ability to merge creativity with technical precision has earned him recognition as a trusted architect, continually pushing the boundaries of innovation while exceeding client expectations.
Annette Su
Annette is the Design Director of Bureau de Hunch Ltd. She holds a degree in Interior Architecture and a Master’s degree in Design Studies from Central Saint Martins. With over twenty years of experience in London, she excels in the commercial sector, where her project management skills integrate interior design with architectural contexts. Annette has successfully completed various projects, including luxury health clubs, restaurants, and retail spaces, most notably the Din Tai Fung UK.
Yu-Shan Su
Yu-Shan is the Product & Marketing Director at Bureau de Hunch Ltd. She holds dual degrees in Landscape Architecture and Product Design from Central Saint Martins. With over twenty years of experience in Taiwan and China, Yu-Shan manages the commercial and marketing aspects of Chu Chin-Kang Design Studio. Additionally, she is involved in designing and overseeing the operations of Wuguan Books.
